"Warning: The following 'Auction' Website...(in My Humble Opinion) is that it's a 100% Bonified Auction Scam Site... This isn't a sales letter. I have no opt-in box, registration page, or sales offer for $97 or even $1. I don't even have an affiliate link..anywhere, Seriously. The bottom line is a particular 'auction' site has just got me ticked off and have to blow the whistle...and so that I don't grow a tumor I just need to get this off my chest... I've been buying and selling vehicles using auction sites for a long time now. Some auction membership databases are without a doubt extremely profitable. But from experience, please don't waste your time and money with the following site. The site below is simply an auction scam with pretty much no value and then no recourse for a refund. The intent is simply to take your membership fee. I was a victim of this site and would hope you don't make the same mistake as me. Please don't conclude that all online auction sites are ripoff auction sites. Even though I have a personal vendetta I have to be fair and say that there are other sites that are completely above board and very useful member based auction sites that I currently subscribe to. I'll share those in a minute. Most importantly, for all you folks like myself who've been taken advantage of by this site (and I know you're out there cause I've just read a few of your stories) please help me now to stand and blow the whistle loud and clear by taking your hard earned money elsewhere. Auction Scam Website
This auction scam website appears to be a repo boat auctions site. It looks identical to car-auction.com but with boat images instead.
Once you pay your $24.95 to my surprise you're given a simple id/password like "cars" "auction". But even more I found it to actually be a car-auction site as in car-auction.com? It listed maybe 2 or 3 actual boat auction websites that are already on top of Google's top 10 organic results...but that's it?! Outside of that you're left with basically CAR auction sites! Where's all the "thousands of seized and repo boats?" I later came to realize that I was actually shown a 'boat auction' entry page designed by one of the site owners' renegade affiliates. It's facade is similar to that of car-auction.com. The site doesn't have any support so I notified car-auction.com but didn't get a response. No surprise there. The bottom line is The Auction Spot is not a boat auction site or a car auction site. In my opinion...it's a scam site. And if you get sucked in there's no contact or support page whereby you can even begin to request a refund! So, keep an eye out as you click PPC ads atop Google. This is my latest find but I'll be adding more scam sites as my BS detection senses sniff out other scams that warrant deeper investigation. Ok, I feel better now that I got that off my chest...So, here's a few sites I trust:Again, I say this without any affilate links or sales offers attached. Below is an auction site that unlike the above have proven very profitable. Especially if you're looking to buy a cheap boat via. auction within a reasonable proximity. Most auction houses allow you to inspect the asset to some degree prior to bidding so take advantage of that option. Only if your familiar with the asset and have received clear spec's as to its condition, book value, and history would you bid 'site unseen'. And even that can be a risk. So it's best to have the boat surveyed by a professional 3rd party prior to bidding.Having said that even though I am NOT a commissioned affiliate to the sites below I didn't want to 'throw the baby out with the bath water' if you will. There are auction sites that have over the years created a valuable resource. Even though my main objective here as the whistle blower against those auction ripoff sites above, you can nonetheless find relief in the resourceful sites below: Recommended Auction Site--Boats
BoatAuctionsDirect.comUnlike the above Boat Auctions Direct throws out the funnel and grabs a shovel to dig specifically for all types of boat or marine related auction sources. This 700 page site also includes other venues besides auctions whereby members can find discounted boats as well including specific classified sites, Government agencies, upcoming auction sales, and even salvage sources for the DIY'ers.I found this site thorough and organized. Instead of a broad array of assets they focus on marine related auctions and resources to help members buy cheap. My only gripe is that it can take an hour or sift through all the listings. But I hear they're automating the whole process to a 'quick search'. In the end this site is a bargain at $29.95 for a lifetime membership. Finally, as promised when deciding upon any type of auction or retail website look for the following before committing any of your time and money: Tip #1Look for 3rd party verifcation that the site is a legitimate business. Companies like TrustGuard, BBB, and other verification companies have logos that when clicked will reveal that the company isn't just a couple webpages and some web programmer. You should be able to see a verified company name, address, and ph#. If they're not willing to be transparent about the most basics of their business then what else are they hiding.Tip #2Be sure you can actually contact the company owners via. contact us or a support page. Be sure to actually click the 'Contact Us' link since some sites (as I found out) just show a link to a 404 page! It's going to hard for you to get your money back if you can't even contact them.If you would like to add a site to the above feel free to contact me at: scamsiteteam@gmail.com along a concise explanation.
